Sofia was born in the Far East of Russia. Aged four, she began to attend a vocal studio. As a

member of the studio she performed on prestigious stages of Russia, went on tours to Japan,

Korea and China.

Sofia has been participating in various contests since she was eight.

At the age of fifteen she won the Grand Prix at the International Contest “Amber Star” (Jürmala,

Latvia, 2006).

In 2004, Sofia represented Russia at the International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk” and

received a Special prize of “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.

In 2005, the President of Russia V. V. Putin awarded the “Order of St. Equal to Apostles

Princess Olga” to Sofia Muratova for faith and art dedication. She went on to win a scholarship

of the “New Names” foundation that gave her an opportunity to continue studies in Moscow.

After graduation from the State Music College of Pop and Jazz Art she entered the Russian

Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS), Yu.B. Vasilyev’s studio.

Sofia cooperates with Moscow jazz musicians.

She is the producer of her own album recorded in New York. The album includes songs of

different styles, from jazz standards to famous songs in new interpretation.

Sofia gets inspiration from traveling all over the world, learning new languages and cultures.

After travelling across Latin America, she is going to record a new album in which she’s

planning to include her own interpretations of Spanish songs.
