Born in Kiev, Ukraine, on December 4, 1988, into a family of a former military man, Alexei Sachenok, is known under his stage name Matias, which means “gift of God”.

Matias studied at art school. Aged nine, he began to attend the “Amadeus” academic choir at the Kiev Conservatoire. He taught himself to play the guitar. Aged 14, he founded a vocal band with his friends.

He got interested in design and worked as a web designer for the “Raffinade” studio.

In 2011, Matias graduated from the National University of Kyiv, Trade and Economics Department, qualifying as manager of antimonopoly activity.

Matias became popular as a solo performer after his participation in the national TV show “Star Academy 3” where he won the second place (2009).

In 2010, Matias won the project “Star Factory. Super -Final”, featuring the best participants of three seasons. He was one of the three winners of the national selections for the “Eurovision” Song Contest. Matias went on to get into the finals of the national selections in 2011

In 2010, he performed with the jazz pianist and composer Keiko Matsui on stage of the “Ukraine” Palace.

In 2011, Matias was a guest performer at the international festivals “Golden Gramophone Ukraine”, “Songs of the Sea”, “Crimea Music Fest”, and had success at the International Vocal Contest “Baltic Song Contest”. In the same year he won the national awards “VIVA! Most Beautiful People of Ukraine” and “Favorite of Success”.

Matias has signed a contract with the concert agency “Music Shark” and “Moon Records” company. He takes part in TV and radio shows, gives concerts in Ukraine and abroad. The songs “Angels Don’t Die”, “White Plane”, “Lose Me War” are hit parade tops.

Matias has recorded several video clips, including “Air”, “Minute”.

In 2014, as a guest performer of the national selections for “Eurovision” he performed the song “Myself”.

In 2011, Matias took part in the gala concert of the Masters of Arts of Ukraine at “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.

In 2013, he participated in the Closing Ceremony of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” and the “Night Hit” concert for the youth.
